Abstract |
The acquisition of good quality continuous ice cores for paleoclimatological investigations world wide has created a need for a variety of ice coring drills. It is essential to identify the requirements for an ice coring project, then specify the type of drill and supporting equipment to meet these requirements for a given ice coring project. Ice core drilling systems must handle a variety of ice types from 0 degrees to -57 degrees Celsius, varying pressure and physical characteristics of the ice. |
